About This Training Course

"Paying Weekly WorkCover Benefits – includes: how to pay injured workers correctly, how to calculate average weekly earnings, employer excess, employer responsibility, pending liability, entitlement periods, indexation, reductions, submitting wage reimbursement, certificates of capacity.

New Premium Changes & Claims Cost Calculation will include: how poor claims management can impact on your workers compensation premium, including industry classification, statistical case estimates, premium funding, wage declarations and legislative requirements.

This course covers the estimation of a claim, premium calculation and costs including SCE – statistical case estimates and WorkCover Industry Classification WIC. Focus on key review points, circumstances in which an estimates can be reduced and how return to work can affect the estimate. It will also cover access to premium funding, remuneration and the new premium claims statements.

Learning Outcomes

The session will explain how to calculate and pay WorkCover entitlements for injured workers and how to pay annual leave and long service leave while on WorkCover. Participants will learn what to include in the PIAWE when calculating average weekly earnings and the impact of overtime and shift allowances, certificates of capacity, entitlement periods, and reductions as well as submitting wage reimbursement schedules. The training will enhance your understanding of premium statements and claims cost and provide details of new changes affecting employers.
