About This Training Course

"An intensive one day course for those who face the media on behalf of their organisation. Delivered by Sue Driscoll, the program includes advice on how to gain coverage for good news stories as well as how to handle the media during times of public debate and crisis. The practical component includes individual mock interviews, to practice handling questions, in a variety of media settings: press, radio and television.
This session will be available to a limited number of people (6 maximum) and will involve one-on-one feedback from Sue who is an experienced journalist with an extensive background in the health sector.
The mock one-on-one interview will be recorded and each individual will receive a CD to take away."

Other Information

"Sue Driscoll is a freelance consultant, who provides strategic communication advice to organisations, particularly in the health care industry. She is an experienced health care practitioner who worked in major metropolitan Melbourne hospitals for more than 15 years. During this time she coordinated hospital and network responses to major crises including infection outbreaks, industrial action, coronial inquests, funding shortfalls, facility and equipment malfunctions and the many media stories – good and bad news – that face a Victorian public health care organisation.
Sue has managed internal and external relations for corporations and not-for-profit organisations, as part of the management team and as a consultant. She has also taught strategic communication, planning and community relations at Masters level at RMIT University.
An ex-journalist, Sue is a former President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (Victoria), and organised the Institute’s last two overseas study tours (to the US and UK) and has been a regular commentator on public relations on ABC Radio."
