This Certificate III in Bricklaying & Blocklaying course will give you a career opportunity to work on site as a Bricklayer.

In this Certificate III in Bricklaying & Blocklaying course you will gain the skills to drive a scissor lift (also known as a mobile work platform), obtain tickets (licences) to operate explosive power tools, and obtain an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Construction Induction card (formerly known as a red card) giving you permission to work on any site in Victoria. You will learn how to read and interpret plans and drawings, how to estimate, all aspects of bricklaying in constructing walls, partitions, foundations and other structures, conduct set outs, use various tools and machines to cut and shape bricks, construct ornamental brickwork and archways, and construct scaffolding. Finally, you'll complete the course with the skills and confidence required to enable you to work on both commercial and domestic sites anywhere in Australia.

Government funded places are available if you are:

Aged under 20 on 1 January in the year in which the course you wish to study commences
Aged 20 and over if the course you wish to study is higher than the highest qualification you already hold. For example, you would be eligible for a funded place in the Certificate III course if the highest qualification you already hold in any field is Certificate II or lower.
