About This Training Course

You will attend on the day for 7 hours where you are assessed through demonstration of practical skills, role plays and group scenario activities.

This Apply First Aid Refresher Training Course (previously known as Senior First Aid refresher) covers the following subjects:

• Chain of Survival
• Assessing the situation
• Signs of life
• Performing CPR
• Demonstrate use of an Automated External Defibrillator
• Care of the unconscious person
• Special techniques for children and infants
• CPR in special circumstances
• Breathing emergencies including chocking and asthma
• Cardiac emergencies
• Severe allergic reaction
• Shock
• Bleeding and wound care
• Burns and scalds
• Extremes of heat and cold
• Poisoning
• Altered conscious states including fainting
• Bites and stings
• Muscoskeletal injuries
• Infection control
• Reporting procedures

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Apply First Aid Refresher Training Course (previously known as Senior First Aid refresher) participants will be issued with a:

Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised units of competency from the Health Training Package, HLTFA301B - Apply First Aid, HLTFA201A - Provide basic emergency life support, HLTCPR201A - Perform CPR

Prerequisites

Current Apply First Aid certificate or certificate previously know as Senior First AId that has not expired

Other Information

After enrollment you will receive a confirmation letter. Once you have attended the Apply First Aid Refresher Training Course (previously known as Senior First Aid refresher) you will be issued with a parchment which shows the qualification you have achieved. This is valid for 3 years. A wallet sized card is available at a cost of $10.
