All persons working on construction sites in Victoria (this also applies in WA, QLD, NSW, and SA), are required to hold a White Card/Red Card Training Course (Construction Induction Card) to prove they have completed basic, industry wide Occupational Health and Safety induction training.
Some examples of the construction industry (but not limited to) are:
Housing construction, civil construction, repairs, refurbishment, renovations, carpentry, bricklaying, concreting, asbestos removal.
This White Card/Red Card Training Course (Construction Induction Card) covers the following subjects:
• Understanding the Legislative framework
• Knowing the responsibilities of employers, employees and contractors
• Recognising potential hazards and understanding control measures
• Dealing with accidents and incidents
• Being aware of psycho-social workplace factors
• Using signage and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
At the end of this White Card/Red Card Training Course (Construction Induction Card), the participant will be issued with a:
Statement of Attainment. This will allow them to work in the construction industry while WorkSafe Victoria is processing their White Card.
Career or Study Pathways:
The White Card/Red Card Training Course (Construction Induction Card) will provide credit for the unit of competency CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry, a unit from the Construction, Plumbing and Services Integrated Framework Training Package CPC08
Participants must possess basic english skills.
Proof of Identity will be required on the day. Some acceptable forms of this would be an Australian Driver's Licence, Passport, Keypass card, High Risk Licence,Boat or Firearms Licence for instance.
