About This Training Course

All employers shall ensure that:
• All personnel involved in the operation, inspection and maintenance of elevating work platforms are adequately trained.

• Manuals applicable to the elevating work platform are available to operators and a logbook is supplied.

• Elevating work platforms that are not in a safe operating condition are immediately removed from services until repaired.

• Personnel who are accommodated on the platform shall have the ability to perform the required degree of work at elevated levels.

• Competent personnel are available to provide guidance on siting decisions as applicable.

• Proper inspection and maintenance is carried out.

Course price does not include Work Safe fee of $79.

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Elevated Work Platform Training Course-(EWP). applicants will be able to:


• Safely plan and execute all operations involving the use of an EWP including stability, movement and setting up.
• Select the correct EWP for individual jobs.
• Be aware of hazards associated with the use of an EWP.
• Conduct pre-operational checks
• Use emergency decent equipment provided with the EWP.
• Understand the legislation covering the use of an EWP.
• Know and be able to use the correct personal protective equipment required when operating an EWP.

NOTE: This course will be conducted using a modern self propelled lift of the type and size being used in most workplaces.

Prerequisites

All applicants must be at least 18 years old.

It is a Work Safe Requirement that students must have sufficient knowledge of the English Language to communicate orally with other workers and where appropriate, be able to read and understand Safety Signs at Workplaces, Operator Manuals, Load Charts, JSA's and so on.

Other Information

All applicants will be expected to conduct themselves in a manner that will ensure their safety and ability for all members of the class to learn. The trainers/assessor has the right to remove any persons not following this requirement.

All successful applicants receive a certificate stating attainment of competency standards for EWP operations and duties and a High Risk Licence (EWP).
