About This Training Course

This 2 day Basic Rigging Training Course involves theory and practice of basic rigging techniques. At the end of this course candidates will be proficient in basic rigging techniques.
Course price does not include a $79 WorkSafe fee.

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Basic Rigging Training Course applicants will be able to:

• Be aware of duty of care requirements, relevant sections of the O.H. & S. Regulations and Australian Standards.
• Safely plan and execute basic rigging duties.
• Have a full understanding of most common types of FSWR and their particular applications.
• Set up winches, sheaves and purchases for FSWR and fibre rope.

Identify and correctly operate:
• Rigging appliances (spreader bars, chain blocks, and cum-a-longs).
• Anchorages and fittings.
• Steel erection.
• Cantilevered crane-loading platforms.
• Erection of hoists and mast climbers.
• Industrial safety nets.
• Safety nets and static lines.

And become proficient in.
• Handling pre cast concrete. (Not tilt up panels)
• Plan reading.
• Use of PPE.

Prerequisites

The requirements and what you need to bring for the Basic Rigging Training Course

• A Dogger High Risk Licence is a requirement.
• All applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• It is a Work Safe requirement that students must have sufficient knowledge of the English Language to communicate orally with other workers and where appropriate, be able to read and understand Safety Signs at Workplaces, Operator Manuals, Load Charts, JSA's and so on.

ASSESSMENTS:
Two written assessments and one practical
x2 passport photos are required which MSTS can supply for a fee of $15.00
