About This Training Course

This Mobile Slewing Crane - up to 60 tonne (C6) Training Course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to safely operate a mobile slewing crane. The C6 Class which is up to and including 60 tonnes is described in Schedule B of the "National Occupational Health & Safety Certification Standards for Uses and Operators of Industrial Equipment." [NOHSC 1006 (2001)].

The C6/C1 training plan is based on the Unit of Competencies within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF):

UEPOPS201A - Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
UEPOPS230A - Operate Lifting and Load Shifting Equipment for loads greater than ten tonnes WorkSafe Western Australia Certification.

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Mobile Slewing Crane - up to 60 tonne (C6) Training Course participants will be able to perform pre-operational checks; set-up and operate the crane competently; shut down and dismantle and perform various operations competently.

Competent candidates will be issued with a Statement of Attainment (C6 and/or C1) and a Nationally recognised Work Safe 60 day interim certificate. Work Safe Western Australia will issue a Certificate of Competency within that 60 day period.

Prerequisites

It is recommended that participants attending either the C1 or C6 `Class’ training hold a current Dogging Certificate of Competency.

Other Information

Work Safe will issue a Certificate of Competency within a 60 day period. Certificate fee - AUS$50 per person (Darwin) and AUS$76 per person (Perth).
