About This Training Course

This Dogging (DG) UEPOPS214A Training Course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to plan, prepare and complete Dogging work as prescribed by the National Occupational Health Safety Certification Standard for Uses & Operators of Industrial Equipment. [NOHSC 1006 (2001)].

The Dogging Training Plan is based on the Units of Competency within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF):

• UEPOPS201A - Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
• UEPOPS214A - Perform Dogging Work

Subjects Covered

The Dogging (DG) UEPOPS214A Training Course covers the following:

• SWL of gear and materials; selecting, maintaining and inspecting fibre ropes, chains, steel and wire ropes; performing splicing techniques and demonstrating a number of bends and hitches; slings, moving and placement of loads; as well as directing cranes.

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Dogging (DG) UEPOPS214A Training Course, participants will be able to

Determine the SWL of gear and materials; select, maintain and inspect fibre ropes, chains, steel and wire ropes; perform splicing techniques and demonstrate a number of bends and hitches; sling, move and place loads; directing cranes.

Competent candidates will be issued with a Statement of Attainment (DG) and Nationally recognised Work Safe 60 day interim certificate. Work Safe will issue a Certificate of Competency within that 60 day period.

Work Safe will issue a Certificate of Competency within a 60 day period. Certificate fee - AUS$50 per person (Darwin) and AUS$76 per person (Perth).
