About This Training Course

This Basic Rigging Training Course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to plan, prepare & complete basic rigging work as prescribed by the "National Occupational Health & Safety Certification Standards for Uses & Operators of Industrial Equipment". [NOHSC 1006 (2001)].

This Basic Rigging Training Course covers the following subjects:

The Plan is based on the Units of Competency within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF):

UEPOPS201A - Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
UEPOPS212A - Perform Basic Rigging Work
Work Safe Western Australia Certification

• Legislation in the Workplace
• Plan Work
• Fibre Rope
• Steel Erection
• Placement of Pre - cast concrete
• Safety Nets and Static Lines
• Practical Training

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Basic Rigging Training Course , participants will be able to prepare rigging equipment; erect structural steel; use a safety harness; outline responsibilities and work safely at heights.

Competent candidates will be issued with a Statement of Attainment (RB) and a nationally recognised Work Safe 60 day interim certificate. Work Safe will issue a Certificate of Competency within that 60 day period.

Prerequisites

Participants must be the holder of a certificate of competency as a Dogman.

As rigging work requires the use of an elevated work platform it is recommended that a current Work Safe High Risk Licence in EWP Operation is held.

Other Information

WorkSafe will issue a Certificate of Competency within a 60 day period. Certificate fee - AUS$50 per person (Darwin) and AUS$71 per person (Perth).
