About This Training Course

Understanding the stakeholders and the needs of the key players in an organisation’s field of influence is a key element of personal and organisational success. Part of this understanding
may involve the ability to champion ideas and influence and persuade others towards achieving organisational strategic goals and objectives.

The intention of persuasion is very different to the intention of manipulation – one will build a reputation while the other will bury a reputation.

This workshop will focus on the development of an understanding about who stakeholders are, and how their needs can be best serviced. Participants will take a journey that will assist in developing effective influencing and persuading skills to create authentic dialogue and soundly negotiated
outcomes.

Subjects Covered

• short presentation on theoretical models of strategic influencing and
persuasion
• action learning activities based on a case study review
• workshop applications of actual business opportunities using
strategies, tools and techniques introduced during the workshop.

Training Course Outcomes

On completion participants should be able to:
• understand the key theories of influence and persuasion
• understand the fundamentals of organisational power and the need
to develop negotiation skills
• complete a stakeholder map and analyse stakeholder profiles
including an exploration of relationship management
• develop a stakeholder communication strategy, risk register and
action plan, based on business objectives to be achieved
• apply communication techniques to improve the capacity to
influence.
