About This Training Course

Learn about the importance of safety in the workplace. This one-day workshop will review the legislation surrounding this high-risk body of work and participants will learn to build an OH&S program that not only fulfil legal obligations, but also successfully changes the mindset and behaviours of the key stakeholders in their organisation towards the role and importance of safety.

Subjects Covered

Participants are asked to identify risks, create communication processes to help make others aware of risks, develop options for mitigating risks and produce risk management plans. Strategies for dealing with bullying are also covered in this course.

Format:

• as a pre-workshop exercise, participants will be asked to undertake a short risk management exercise as part of their input into group work
• group discovery and discussions
• presentation of theory and legislation.

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

• understand the physical and mental benefits of a safe workplace
• use legislation to support OH&S initiatives
• develop strategies to deal with staff bullying
• complete OH&S reporting obligations to both external and internal stakeholders
• identify risks and potential risks
• prepare a framework for a risk management plan.

Participants have the option of having assessment for this course count towards the Foundations of Human Resources certificate.

Note that an additional assessment fee will be incurred for this option.
