Participants on this Adelaide Safe Work in Confined Spaces Training Course will gain understanding of the control of entry to confined spaces, for maintenance, servicing of vessels or other necessary reasons. This will include understanding for work in or entry to confined spaces with due regard to relevant legislation and applicable Standards. It is expected that all persons entering the confined space and the standby person will be competent to enter confined space.
Nationally Recognised Training: This Safe Work in Confined Spaces Training Course is part of a nationally recognised Public Safety Training Package. Information about nationally recognised training can be found through the National Training Information Service (NTIS). NTIS is the official national register of information on Training Packages, Qualifications, Courses, Units of Competency and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). www.ntis.gov.au.
Legislative Approvals: These units conform to the requirements of National and State Occupational Health Safety & Welfare Regulations.

Prerequisites: (PMAPER200C) Work in accordance with an issued permit.

What is a confined space? confined space means an enclosed or partially enclosed space that—
(a) is at atmospheric pressure when anyone is in the space; and (b) is not intended or designed primarily as a workplace; and (c) could have restricted entry to, or exit from, the place; and (d) is, or is likely to be, entered by a person to work; and (e) at any time, contains, or is likely to contain, any of the following (i) an atmosphere that has potentially harmful levels of a contaminant; (ii) an atmosphere that does not have a safe oxygen level; (iii) anything that could cause engulfment.
