About This Training Course

This Queensland Traffic Control Training Course has been designed by the Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads in order to accredit individuals with the skills required to become a Traffic Controller in Queensland.

This Queensland Traffic Control Training Course is delivered by an Accredited traffic control Training Provider. This course now also includes 20 hours on the job practical placement.

On successful completion of theQueensland Traffic Control Training Course and issue of the Traffic Controller Licence from Queensland Transport the participant/s may gain employment in the traffic management industry. Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this Queensland Traffic Control Training Courseapplicants can apply for a Traffic Controller Licence in Queensland.

Prerequisites

Must be 18 years or age and have held a provisional drivers licence (either Australian or Foreign) for a minimum of 12 months in the past 5 years.

Some criminal convictions in the past 5 years may exclude you from obtaining accreditation. Contact us for further details.

Other Information

On completion of the Queensland Traffic Control Training Course; the applicant will need to apply to Queensland Transport for their Traffic Control Licence, this will incur an additional cost of $167.10 for a three year licence. A Criminal History Check is also conducted by Queensland Transport (included in cost) with the Licence application.

Traffic Controllers are required to undertake a refresher course every three years in order to maintain their accreditation. We can supply this training as required.

In accordance with the new Traffic Management Code of Practice, all Traffic Controllers must complete a General Safety Induction (White Card). The Blue Card (issued before 1/07/09 or equivilent from another state) is also accepted.
