It is recognised that there is a broad range of stakeholders in the VET industry, ranging from VET professionals to industry trainer/assessors to enterprise trainer/assessors. As the basic training qualification the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Course is designed to provide the essential elements of what is needed by an entry trainer and assessor in any Vocational Education and Training (VET) context as well as providing a firm, foundation on which to build further knowledge and skills.
The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification assumes that the learner is engaged in a training and education environment or has a vocational skill at a level that supports training and education in the subject area in which it is intended to teach.
This TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Course will cover the following subjects:
TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment includes the completion of 10 units consisting of 7 core units and 3 elective units. Core Units • TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs • TAEDES402A Use Training Packages and accredited courses to meet client needs • TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group based learning • TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace • TAEASS401A Plan assessment activities and processes • TAEASS402A Assess competence • TAEASS403A Participate in assessment validation
Elective Units • BSBCMM401A Make a presentation • TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction • TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools

Entry Requirements Participants are required to have sufficient English language and literacy skills to plan and deliver training and assessment in a variety of contexts and situations. This requirement includes the ability to collect, organise, analyse and present information from a variety of sources and to write a range of documentation Participants should be working in, or have access to, a work environment in which to practice their assessment skills and develop training programs. Access to the internet for planning and research activities.

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer Students can apply for recognition of previous study, work, life and educational experience that matches the units of competency or qualification being considered. Students applying for recognition of existing skills and knowledge must provide evidence to support their claim. We also recognize the credentials issued by other training organization’s operating under the Australian Quality Training Framework. BSZ40198 to TAE40110 People who already possess the BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training qualification and wish to upgrade to the new TAE40110 qualification are eligible to complete the upgrade course. The units of competency covered by this option are: TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs TAEDES402A Use Training Packages and accredited courses to meet client needs TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace TAEASS401A Plan assessment activities and processes TAEASS403A Participate in assessment validation Delivery and Assessment: Participants requiring upgrade from BSZ40198 can apply for Recognition assessment of any current competencies and can attend face-to-face sessions during the 5 day scheduled session or the 5 week scheduled for any days that are relevant to their upgrade option or any identified gap training and/or assessment. TAA40104 to TAE40110 People who already possess the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification and wish to upgrade to the new TAE40110 qualification are eligible to apply for Recognition of assessment of all competencies.
