The 1 Day; Confined Space Entry & WIAW Permit Course provides attendees with a detailed knowledge of how to safely conduct confined space entry activities. Course theory is focused on teaching the processes for safe entry to and exit from a potentially dangerous confined space. It also explains the risk assessment process inclusive of control measures, entry permit system, atmospheric monitoring principles and how to use a gas detector. The Confined Space Entry 1 Day Training Course; Training is conducted in accordance with current legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards
This Confined Space Entry 1 Day Training Course will cover the following subject:
Course Outline • Course introduction and enrollment • Reference documents • Statistics • How to identify a Confined Space; as per AS/NZS 2865 • Risk management concepts / risk assessments • Hazards • Hierarchy of hazard control • Roles and responsibilities of key personnel • Communications • Monitor hazardous atmospheres (gas detection) • Workplace exposure standards • Use of fall prevention equipment • First aid appreciation • Fire protection awareness • Emergency procedures • Entry permits • Practical exercises performed • Assessment of students’ competence
Assessment:
Practical, theoretical and application based assessments in consideration of the following competencies:
• MSAPMPER205C: Enter Confined Space • MSAPMPER200C: Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit
At the end of this Confined Space Entry 1 Day Training Course, each student will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (certification) on completion of course. An ID wallet/purse size card will also be issued for on site job identification needs.

Course Logistics
To maximize learning benefits, it is recommended that this Confined Space Entry 1 Day Training Course be conducted with a maximum of 10 participants over a period of 1 day.
What is a confined space? confined space means an enclosed or partially enclosed space that—
(a) is at atmospheric pressure when anyone is in the space; and (b) is not intended or designed primarily as a workplace; and (c) could have restricted entry to, or exit from, the place; and (d) is, or is likely to be, entered by a person to work; and (e) at any time, contains, or is likely to contain, any of the following (i) an atmosphere that has potentially harmful levels of a contaminant; (ii) an atmosphere that does not have a safe oxygen level; (iii) anything that could cause engulfment.

In order to confirm your booking, payment must be received prior to the Confined Space Entry 1 Day Training Course or the booking may be cancelled. If there are an inadequate number of participants on the course, it may be cancelled.
